Throughout 2026, Bascule has continued to deliver on its strategy of supporting the US equine sector, its agencies, and its customers — expanding its range of equine products, growing the network of agencies it supports, and investing in the technology that underpins them.
To date, Bascule has underwritten over $500 million in premium, insured more than 450,000 horses, and paid out over $150 million in claims to insureds. Equine insurance is not a side product to a wider underwriting portfolio at Bascule — it is our reason for existing. Horses are our team's passion, and supporting agents is our craft.
Bascule's strength has always been its deep understanding of customers and horses, allowing claims to be adjusted sensibly and compassionately, combined with a clear appreciation of what the market needs: good products, reliable capacity, and world-leading agents for distribution.
Over the past year, the equine market has experienced significant turbulence — from carriers withdrawing from markets without notice, to systems failures and high staff turnover elsewhere in the sector. Against that backdrop, Bascule has grown by being what agents need most: a supportive, innovative, and stable home for equine business.
Remake26: building for the long term
In 2026, Bascule launched its Remake26 strategy, built on three core pillars:
Market Presence. Bascule's branding, marketing, and messaging had not fully reflected the true impact and breadth of the company's work. That has now changed — with a refreshed brand identity, phase one of a new website, and a suite of new marketing assets for agents. This framework puts Bascule in an even stronger position to support agents, vets, and customers with insights, assets, and a clearer understanding of what Bascule stands for.
Systems Upgrades. Behind the scenes, Bascule has been building a modern, unified platform to bring operations together and give agents access to features, reports, and insights that were previously out of reach. In June, the company launched the first version of PolicyHub across all claims — and the impact has been immediate. Agents and insureds are now automatically updated on claims progress, forms can be uploaded to a claim online, and vet reports no longer need to be printed. As a result, Bascule's average vet report response time has fallen from 18 days to under 5 — all aimed at getting customers paid faster.
Team Expansion. With growing market demand for Bascule's services, renewed confidence driven by its market presence, and systems now geared for quality at scale, Bascule is strengthening its Equine Division in the second half of 2026 with industry-renowned leaders, skill, and knowledge. Because ultimately, agents — come what may — need a knowledgeable, approachable, and collaborative underwriting team behind them.
Dianne Meisner joins Bascule

As the first of a series of senior appointments planned across the second half of 2026, Bascule is proud to announce that Dianne Meisner is joining its Equine Team.
Dianne brings a substantial and proven track record in the equine space, with particular expertise in leading equine underwriting teams. Her knowledge and experience will have a profound and positive impact on Bascule's agents and existing team members, and her appointment underlines the company's commitment to redefining the gold standard in equine insurance.
"Dianne's arrival is not a one-off hire — it is the first visible step in a deliberate, long-planned build-out of our Equine Division. We have spent 2026 putting the foundations in place: the brand, the platform, and the operational capacity to grow well. Now we are adding the people. Dianne is one of the most respected figures in equine underwriting, and the fact that leaders of her calibre are choosing Bascule tells you everything about where this company is heading. She is the first — and she will not be the last."
William Hill · Chief Executive Officer, Bascule
"Remake26 was always designed to be sequenced: presence, then platform, then people. With PolicyHub going live and delivering measurable results for agents and insureds, this is exactly the right moment to bring in leadership of Dianne's quality. Her experience building and running high-performing equine underwriting teams complements everything we have built this year, and I know our agents will feel the benefit of her involvement very quickly."
Sarah Moore · Chief Operating Officer, Bascule
"What drew me to Bascule is that equine insurance isn't a line of business here — it's the whole business. The passion for horses, the respect for agents, and the investment the company has made in doing things properly are obvious the moment you walk through the door. There is a genuinely exciting plan taking shape for the Equine Division, and I'm delighted to be joining at the start of it. Watch this space."
Dianne Meisner
Further announcements regarding the growth of Bascule's Equine Division will be made in the coming months.
